SportEXAsia supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports concluded with game-changing ideas and extraordinary perspectives by eminent personalities in the capital. The two day international conference saw the active participation of various industry leaders. All of them came together to endorse sports in the country.
Post the completion of the event, Achyut Kulkarni from Market4Sports caught up with Mr.Raghvendra Madhav, Chairman of SportEx Asia to get more insight about the platform and what is in store for the future.
AK: What does SportEx Asia aim at doing in India? Tell us about how it will benefit the various stakeholders in the sports sector?
RM: SportEX Asia aims to be a unique platform for investment opportunities for corporate entities and HNIs in the sports sector. It is a platform where issues and their solutions pertaining to the growth of Sports in the country are discussed. We started this platform with three key objectives for people who are interested in sports and for those who are likely to be interested in sports
- they can get an overview of where the sports sector currently is.
- high-network individuals and corporates can look at the new areas of investment into sports, existing areas of investment into sports and how are they expanding ,whether it be the IPL franchises or ISL franchise or the new franchises that are coming up ( he added that there are almost 30 new leagues coming up in the near furture)
- Basic objective is how money and businesses can focus on sports so that money trickles down and an eco system is created which reaches the grassroot levels thus eventually benetting the youth across the nation in both urban and rural areas.
AK: How was the response of such an event?
RM: We are delighted with the response to this event. Over 200+ concerned corporates, governement individuals and advertsing agencies etc. turned up for the event during both the days. In addition, we will be sending out a event highlight's CD to 500 additional people. So, yeah, hopefully, 500-700 people will now understand what the sports sector is and the things that are happening in it thus also bringing in a quantum change in the masses.
AK: Will SportEx be coming up with more such events?
RM: Yes, absolutely. SportEx is not just a conference, we are looking at a movement. (Mr. Raghvendra says he keeps making this point that it is not just a conference but a movement) We will not only be doing this on site but thi will be carried online as well. Beside, We will also be doing SportEx schools, SportEx colleges, and are already in talks with Chairman's of different Educational institutions to come in and get their principals and stuff like that.
